Wendy BeckerWendy BeckerFree local phone calls, so you can talk and talk

It might come as a surprise to some people, but 70% of all the UK calls our customers make are to local numbers. So we’ve recently reviewed our pricing to reflect this and give our customers a better deal.

What we’ve created is a new pricing plan for home phone customers, which will offer them free local calls, any time of the day or night, at any time of the week.

So from May 1st 2009 all new TalkTalk customers will be able to benefit from free local calls. And from June 2nd, we’re extending the deal to enable customers to make free calls to all 0845 and 0870 numbers.

We think this will give a significant boost to our customers who want to keep in touch with their neighbours, friends and local services. In fact, combined with no charges for calls to 0845/0870 numbers, it means up to 90% of our customers’ calls will be made for free.

We know that everyone is looking for a good deal given the current economic climate, so we hope that free calls can play its part in keeping people’s costs down.

As part of our pricing review we’ve increased our standard line rental charges to £11.25 a month, taking effect from mid-April 2009 – this in line with BT’s latest line rental increase. You can get the full low down about the price changes on our website: www.talktalk.co.uk/pricechanges

As always, if you have any questions about this particular announcement, please feel free to leave a comment. And have a think about how many friends, family, colleagues and contacts live locally to you. Is it more or less than 70%? You may be surprised!
