Charles DunstoneCharles DunstoneWelcoming Tiscali is next chapter in TalkTalk story

You may have read this morning that TalkTalk is buying Tiscali UK to create Britain’s largest home broadband provider.

We launched TalkTalk in February 2003 to challenge the existing order and provide better value and more choice.  Today’s announcements means we have with over 4.25m broadband customers – over 25% of all UK households.

If I look back six years no one could have imagined that a mobile phone retailer would  build the largest residential broadband provider in the UK, but our determination to offer incredible value with the latest technology has got us to where we are today.

It’s been quite a journey which has seen us build and run the UK’s most advanced next generation network and turn the market upside down by launching ‘free broadband’ – a move that caused us and our customers some sleepless nights at the time.

We’ve learned many lessons about broadband and invested hugely in customer service. We’ve been voted best value home phone company and recognised for having the most improved customer service of any broadband provider in the uSwitch survey in April.

Today we welcome Tiscali customers who will be able to enjoy the benefits of higher bandwidth, greater capacity and advanced services, making it easier and faster to use the internet and giving lower-cost telephone calls.  They can be safe in the knowledge they’ll get uninterrupted service, very importantly including continued provision of their existing email addresses and service.

So, If you’re a Tiscali customer, I’d like to welcome you and extend an invitation to visit  www.talktalk.co.uk/tiscali  where we’ll try and answer any questions you may have.
