Mark Schmid from the TalkTalk Blog goes 60 seconds with Jason Glynn, Commercial Manager at comparison website uSwitch. uSwitch is a free, impartial comparison and switching service that helps customers compare prices on a range of services including gas, electricity, home phone, broadband providers and personal finance products. The site’s aim is to help customers take advantage of the best prices and services on offer from suppliers.
Q. What was your first experience of the web?
A. Using the Yahoo! search engine.
Q. What’s your biggest web annoyance?
A. Poorly designed websites. It’s frustrating not being able to easily find the information you are after.
Q. What are your views on social networking?
A. It’s fantastic. I’m not the best at staying in touch and the likes of Facebook make it so much easier. Lazy I know. I use Twitter a bit but have not completely jumped on the bandwagon yet.
Q. What is your favourite website and why?
A. Wikipedia because it settles all the arguments you have with your friends.
Q. Have you ever Googled yourself?
A. Yes. Just to make sure I haven’t been misquoted!

Q. How many computers do you have in your household?
A. 2.
Q. What laptop do you own and would you recommend it to your friends or family?
A. Dell and yes.
Q. Where do you get more news content: newspapers or the web?
A. The web. Although I do read a lot of newspapers it’s impossible to avoid all the content on the web.
Q. Do you stream music across the internet via sites like LastFM or Spotify? If so, which is your favourite?
A. I do and Spotify is my fave.
Q. What’s your top moneysaving tip?
A. Shop around and also try and haggle, it’s amazing what you can get discounted if you just ask.
Q. If you didn’t work at USwitch, what would be your dream job?
A. Working in the Serengeti national park.

Q. What are visitors to your site looking for in a broadband provider?
A. I believe customers are looking for a reliable ISP with good customer service and, as our broadband connection becomes more essential to our everyday lives, reliability and customer service will become more and more important. Value for money will still be important but service and reliability are becoming larger, more significant factors.
Q. What was the first computer you or your family owned?
A. BBC Microsoft. It had a green screen and didn’t really do anything!
