It’s now just over a month since we launched our Don’t Disconnect Us campaign against the government’s misguided proposals for tackling illegal filesharing which gave sweeping powers to the Government to require ISPs to disconnect people from the Internet without proof that they did anything wrong. Since then the campaign has done better and reached a wider audience than even we anticipated.

Rewarding Britain’s digital heroes

Yesterday we were at the House Lords to hand out awards to the 12 regional winners of our TalkTalk Digital Heroes Awards. The event was a great success, with a number of MPs and peers – including Culture Secretary Ben Bradshaw – joining representatives from TalkTalk and digital inclusion charity Citizens Online, along with the winners themselves.

Could the next decade see the death of email? . . .

That’s the prediction – publicised today – based on trends found in our Digital Anthropology Report. Looking at Britain’s internet habits, we found that there are over 2 million “First Lifers” – those in their late teens or early 20s who are tech savvy but don’t like being stuck at a desk.
