In my last blog post I told you about our new TalkTalk Pro package, which, as well as offering some of the fastest download speeds available at a great value price, also comes with a next-generation N router – called the D-Link 2740R.
We are very excited about this router, what it can do and what this means for our customers. So we were delighted to see it highly praised in PC Format, which described it as “the ultimate in raw performance”, and gave it 90% in its overall review of the product.
As I mentioned before, the D-Link N router is capable of transmitting a Wi-Fi signal up to 70 metres indoors and 250 metres outdoors – significantly further than previous routers – giving you greater freedom and flexibility in using your laptop or mobile device wherever suits you.
The D-Link is also exceptionally fast. In fact, PC Format said it’s the quickest router they’ve tested, and that it’s second to none in file transfers, with close-range speeds of 9.34 megs per second, and 8.4 megs on room-to-room transfers. This is the result of our optimisation work with D-Link, and we have managed to increase the wireless throughput performance for a better wireless experience.
PC Format also said the D-Link is slick in design and one of the most polished the magazine has reviewed.
