Tristia ClarkeTristia ClarkeAnd this year’s winner is: Joe McElderry

Well, if you’re like me and was glued to the X Factor this week, you’re in good company: 19 million of us tuned in to watch Joe McElderry win this year’s contest.

And what an event it was too. After Stacey was voted off on Saturday night, it was down to Olly, backed by Simon Cowell, and Joe, backed by Cheryl Cole, to battle it out last night.

The final song, The Climb, performed by both contestents, was too steep for Olly and a clearly flabbergasted Joe was voted by the great British public as the overall winner. Congratulations Joe!

But it doesn’t end there. The X Factor tour starts very soon and you can still get involved and Brightdance your own tribute to Britain’s favourite show. In the meantime, Joe has Christmas number one to fight for. You can buy his rendition of The Climb on iTunes (and other outlets) now.
