How will you use the internet in 2010?
That’s the question we recently asked 2,000 people up and down the UK, and we’ve revealed the answers today.
Impressively, half of Brits say they will use the internet to try something new this year and 20% of them believe the net will have a bigger impact on their lives than in 2009.
Well over half (61%) will use the web to shop for better deals, with 37% using it to manage their finances more efficiently.
And as well as using the internet for financial reasons, many Brits appear to be hoping it could make 2010 a romantic year to remember, with one in five of those we asked claiming they will be using the net to look for a partner in the next 12 months.
Over the past few years we have seen broadband steadily growing in importance in British households and we firmly believe that the internet
has much more to offer in terms of managing people’s financial, social and even romantic lives.
Nearly half of Brits – 45% of those we surveyed – believe 2010 will be more difficult than last year financially, and when you see that the best deals and money saving techniques are online it emphasises the importance of getting fast broadband to homes, regardless of geography and income.
So what are you planning to do online in 2010? Are you planning to plunge into the world of twitter or spend more time catching up online on TV shows you missed first time round?
