Mark SchmidMark SchmidThe best of the web at your fingertips

While spending hours trawling the internet for information, entertainment and ideas is some people’s idea of a brilliant way to spend their time, that’s not the case for millions of others out there.

So while the beauty of the internet is that new sites pop up all the time, it inevitably means it’s really easy to miss some of the great stuff the web has to offer.

Many of us feel like we need a guide through this jungle of content to find the really useful and interesting sites, beyond just Googling at random.

So for those of you who have better things to do with your time than sitting at a computer searching for things – fear no more! We’ve done it for you.

We’ve teamed up with Mr Know-It-All, gadget and tech expert Jason Bradbury to bring you the best of the web, split into five easy-to-navigate categories:

  1. Music, film, TV and more
  2. Keep your finger on the pulse with instant news
  3. Social networking – get connected
  4. Your perfect break – just a few clicks away
  5. Eco thinking – go green in 2010

I’ve found some great new sites I didn’t know about before, including envirophone.com for me to recycle my old mobile phone, and hulu.com for watching the best US TV shows streamed online.

And if – like me – you’d admit to being a bit disorganised and forgetful at times, why not think about sorting your browser into these categories and saving the suggested websites into each category?

Couldn’t be simpler!
