Here at TalkTalk we like to think we go the extra mile for our customers. This time, however, we’re going the extra mile with our customers – on a charity bike ride from Land’s End to John o’ Groats.
Today Sarah Beckingsale and Steve Mitchell will embark on one of the most famous routes in Britain to raise sponsorship and awareness for Great Western Air Ambulance. And TalkTalk will be there with them every step of the way, providing wireless broadband even in the most remote locations.
The route will see Sarah and Steve take time out from their day jobs as a Senior Physiotherapist and a Consultant Surgeon respectively, and cycle a total of 910 miles over the course of the journey. The route they have planned will take them through Exeter, Bristol, Shrewsbury, Lancaster, Dumfries, Alexandria, Spean Bridge and Dornoch before finally arriving at John o’ Groats on Thursday 2nd September – a gruelling nine day target made even more impressive by the fact that the route can often take up to two weeks to complete.
As part of our sponsorship of the bike ride, the intrepid duo will get to beta test our new TalkTalk mobile internet dongles ahead of their official launch later this year and will be able to keep their fans abreast of their progress – whether they’re in Bristol or the Borders – via their blog.
We think what Sarah and Steve are doing is fantastic and can’t wait to hear about their exploits. All that remains now is to wish them luck and pray for good weather between now and early September!
You can follow Sarah and Steve’s progress, while you can help them reach their £10,000 fundraising goal by donating via their Just Giving page.
Finally, if you find yourself in any of their destinations along the way, remember to keep an eye out for them and offer them your encouragement!
