There was an interesting story that came out this week about how the Internet is now worth over £3,000 to every British family in convenience savings. This huge figure, outlined in research by the Boston Consulting Group, is a combination of costs saved from using online tools like instant messaging to researching the web to find the best deals.
It’s clear, and this latest research confirms it, that we now intuitively use the Internet as a way to save not just time, but money. What’s surprising then in this digital and financially-savvy age is that so many people are still paying over the odds when it comes to connecting to the Internet itself. Moreover, the considerable savings the web can offer can quite quickly be eroded by paying sky high monthly charges for internet access. It doesn’t have to be that way.
At TalkTalk we are doing everything we can to keep the cost of internet access as low as possible. Indeed, we recently introduced our Value Line Rental package which allows customers to pay a one-off payment of £114 for one year’s line rental, which equates to just £9.50 a month, cheaper than BT, Sky and Virgin Media, offering savings of over £50 a year for customers.
We’ll continue to find more ways of providing the internet to you at great value – and then it’s over to you to make those great savings BCG are talking about.
