Liska

Liska writes about her baby boy Aaron, and life in general at New Mum Online. When she’s not having fun days out with Aaron, she’s either working as a part-time HR Manager or eating/sleeping/blogging. Her current focus is to get healthier and fitter and she's doing so with a group of other bloggers with the same goal.

Liska always has something to say, and blogging provides an outlet for that as well as an opportunity to meet like minded people on the world wide web. For new mums in particular, the internet can provide access to a wealth of information and Liska loves nothing more than to share a tip or trick with other mums and dads.

1 Cybermummy: Mummy bloggers have arrived

On Saturday 25th June there was a flurry of excitement as over 400 Mums (and a handful of Dads) headed to the Brewery from far and wide. Founded in January 2010 Cybermummy is pitched as “the only British blogging conference devoted entirely to parent bloggers” and the “best blogging networking event of the year”.

Cybermummy has definitely “arrived” and recent press have got hold of it too: Guardian and the Independent. If you would like to get a sneaky peek inside the doors of the event, watch this excellent video (and see if you can spot me). I wrote about my Cybermummy experience on my blog, where I did not even touch on which workshops I went to and what I learned (or didn’t). My BlogCamp post by contrast is so different, where it was all about the content.

2 HomeSafe – a mum’s view

I am genuinely excited by TalkTalk’s new product: HomeSafe. If it wasn’t for Blog Camp, it would have passed me by as I am not one to read the leaflets that are in with my bills, and even now that I have read them, I don’t think they do HomeSafe justice. Incidentally, Blog Camp took place on Thursday 12th May, the week that HomeSafe was launched.
