Stats from our network
Our network is one of the things that TalkTalk is proudest of. We’ve designed, built and now run the UK’s largest unbundled Next Generation Network with over 86% of our customers are on our network. As well as enabling us to provide great value for money phone and broadband services, it also allows us to carry our customers’ voice and data traffic more efficiently. We’re often asked about usage patterns so here are some recent statistics we thought we’d share. |

Ofcom claims that we’re becoming a nation addicted to smartphones, following research released today which shows that a quarter of adults and nearly half of teens now own a smartphone. A key finding was that 37% of adults and 60% of teens admitted to being “highly addicted” to their smartphone device, such as an iPhone, [...] |

From snakes to angry birds: how mobile gaming got serious
Remember Snake? When I brought my first mobile phone, a Nokia 5110, this game was the premier ‘app’ of the day. The concept was simple: steer your snake around the screen at increasing speeds, eat dots (which make you grow), and don’t hit the walls or your tail. Like many easy-to-play but difficult-to-master games it [...] |

Competitors behind the times when it comes to offering better value
We were interested to hear that BT was calling on its competitors to match its prices for landline calls to mobiles because at TalkTalk we more than match them - in fact, we’ve been offering much cheaper rates for some time and are still better value than BT even after this latest price change. |

The death of the text message?
We were interested to read the Daily Mail’s article this week predicting the death of the text message within a generation. It chimes with similar predictions we made way back in 2009 about the eventual demise of email. Indeed the Daily Mail quoted from our report to suggest that both the text and the email may eventual slide into the technological dustbin of history. |

TalkTalk goes mobile
Millions of people already receive our fixed line phone and broadband services, so the obvious next step for us was to offer mobile packages and allow our customers to use a TalkTalk phone or dongle on the go. |
